We have an immediate opening for a Full Time IT Services Specialist, Servicing Multiple Locations Under the direction of the practice Operations Manager, the IT Service Specialist provides service and support to ensure efficient appropriate maintenance and administration of company’s client server system within the Affiliated Oncologists practice.
Provides technical assistance and training to system users.
Participates in needs assessments, product evaluations, security administration, implementation planning, conversion planning and verification, testing, troubleshooting and training.
Supports and adheres to the Affiliated Oncologists and the US Oncology Network/McKesson Specialty Health Compliance Program, including Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains site computer equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, servers, terminals and printers
Provides support for a small to medium sized population of users across multiple sites in a medical practice
Communicate with the local IT Management and Practice Management about outstanding issues and local projects on a consistent and concise, but informative basis
Daily documentation in local ticketing system
Performs installations and upgrades on workstations, servers and peripherals, not limited to but including hard drives, memory, and software installation.
Works closely with the US Oncology Network/McKesson Specialty Health Corporate Information Technology groups on setting and enforcing standards, implementing and upgrading hardware and software, and monitoring and troubleshooting equipment
Provides technical advice for purchasing new computer equipment to IT and Practice Management
Coordinates services with US Oncology/McKesson Specialty Health IT, local IT Management and Practice Management on corporate implementations, providing local assistance on office moves, new site implementation and office expansion.
Provides local helpdesk functions to all practice users including: Working with the US Oncology/McKesson Specialty Health Service Desk on troubleshooting issues and/or reporting issues to the US Oncology/McKesson Specialty Health Service Desk.
Maintains asset records for local computer equipment
Follows McKesson Specialty Health’s standards for secure disposal of IT equipment
Coordinates with local vendors on the installation of IT equipment, internet and voice circuits
Manages new user requests for access as well as termination of access in accordance with Affiliated Oncologists’ and McKesson Specialty Health policy
Creates training documentation for end user use where needed
Monitors and maintains backups on a daily, monthly, and yearly rotation for local servers
Maintains and configures local phone system, servers, and endpoints within the guidelines of Affiliated Oncologists’ and McKesson Specialty Health standards
Some evening, on-call and weekend work may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
2 Year Associates/Technical Degree in MIS, IT, or related technical field required (4 year Bachelor Preferred) or 5 years IT support experience
Minimum 3 years systems operations and support for PC environment systems and experience with Windows Client/Server model
Quality communication skills through multiple mediums (i.e. email, Power Point, phone, and face to face)
After Hours availability required
Hands-on PC repair experience
Support experience of Microsoft Office 365 preferred
Health Care experience preferred
A + or Microsoft Windows Certifications preferred
Familiarity with Command Line and VBS Scripting preferred
Valid Driver’s License and reliable form of transportation are required
Ability to move up to 40 lbs on a regular basis with up to 70 lbs occasionally required
