SCOPE: Under general direction, provides service and support to ensure efficient, appropriate maintenance and administration of company's client server system within an assigned practice. Provides technical assistance and training to system users. Participates in needs assessments, product evaluations, security administration, implementation planning, conversion planning and verification, testing, troubleshooting and training. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Maintains all on site computer equipment including personal computers, peripherals, servers, wireless equipment, and printers.

-Provides support for a medium sized population of users across multiple sites in a practice.

-Performs installation and upgrades on peripherals such as printers, scanners, laptops, and dictation equipment.

-Conducts training of various office applications which may include Microsoft Office, Acrobat Adobe, and others.

-Works closely with US Oncology corporate Information Technology groups on setting and enforcing standards, implementing and upgrading hardware and software, and monitoring/troubleshooting production equipment.

-Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, Microsoft Office, and corporate Electronic Medical Record programs into computer.

-Provides technical advice for purchasing new computer equipment.

-Coordinates with corporate implementations on providing local technical assistance on all office moves, new site implementation, and office expansions.

-Performs local help desk functions including answering general questions, remote troubleshooting, coordinating with the corporate help desk on issues, and logging or reporting problems.

-Some incumbents may maintain documentation on warranty, configuration, and other records for local computer equipment.

- Coordinates with telephone equipment providers and/or carriers, expediting phone system repairs and/or updates in coordination with corporate telecommunication teams.

-Keeps management informed of status of projects and issues through routine written reports.

-Respect for work areas at site locations, make sure that area is clean and all debris is removed when work is complete.

-Completion of task, up to an including testing of work station to assure process is functioning properly and to the satisfaction of the customer.

-Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Information Systems, business or related technical field required. A+, Network+ or other hardware certifications preferred. Minimum three (3) years experience in support of Windows based systems and other business applications, preferably in a healthcare environment. Experience in support of enterprise resource planning systems, standard desktop applications (MS Office, McAfee Antivirus, internet browsers, email) associated hardware platforms and peripherals, remote troubleshooting and mobile computing, and troubleshooting network connectivity. Any combination of education and experience that meets the minimum qualifications and suitability to perform the job functions.

Must be able to view computer screen and printed material accurately. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs.
