Quality Engineer (This is NOT a remote position)

Responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with the upper management team to set quality benchmarks.
  • Create Lumina Power quality standards in accordance with industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Ensure KPIs are well designed and monitored to meet business needs and fulfill annual audit requirements.
  • Implement and maintain ISO-9001certification.
  • Record findings and brainstorm with the Lumina Power team for Continuous Improvement Ideas.
  • Monitor Suppliers performance and facility audits.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Operation and Test departments in establishing, implementing, and enforcing quality requirements for the manufacturing and testing of electronics assemblies, components, circuit boards and systems.
  • Interface with suppliers, customers, and regulatory representatives regarding quality and safety (UL/CE/TUV) requirements.
  • Prepare QA/failure analysis reports for the purpose of improving reliability of Lumina Power products.
  • Proactively identify quality related deficiencies, propose improvement options, make recommendations, implement resolutions and track progress.
  • Initiate, monitor, approve or reject Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCARs) based on failure analysis and respond to customer concerns in a timely manner.
  • Lead customer audits and ISO9001 Audits.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of power electronics or power supply technology would be beneficial.
  • 5+ year experience in the Quality Control/Assurance area.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Great team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in regulatory testing (CE/UL/TUV). Ability to work with agencies when testing for compliance to medical and industrial safety and EMI standards.
  • Familiarity with RoHS & Conflict Minerals requirements and ESD procedures.
  • Experience with PCB manufacturing Standards (IE: Soldering Standards, J-STD-001/IPC-610).
  • Familiarity with general analog and digital circuit design experience.
  • Strong written/oral communications and leadership skills.
  • Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, permanent resident, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.

This is not a position where the employee can work remotely due to the need to interact with engineering and production. Regular office hours at Lumina Power are required when not traveling on business.
