Our facility in Wilmington, MA is responsible for the manufacturing of time sensitive high-energy beta radiation to support the treatment of inoperable liver tumors. We are looking for a high energy, self-motivated, team player, with a passion for making a difference to join our diverse team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, The Director, Americas Finance will serve as the primary financial business partner for two regions: North America, which is the largest region in terms of revenue, and LATAM, the newest region.

We are looking for an individual whose thinking is strategic, global, proactive, has a sense of urgency and can-do attitude. Someone who is positive, results oriented, control focused, who looks for continuous improvements and can prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment. Lead the American and LATAM finance function to be one that is respectable and can be relied upon by those that they service.

The right candidate is a team player, who can motivate, inspire, and develop the Americas finance team. This individual needs to have the ability to collaborate with various teams or individuals to achieve the strategic goals.

While responsible for the accuracy of the financials and the internal controls, the main responsibilities of this individual go beyond accounting and reporting. This person participates in, contributes to, and takes a leadership role as a member of the regional senior leadership team and the global finance team.

The candidate needs to possess rich experience and have a solid track record in teaming up with the commercial leaders to help them understand the numbers, provide insights/recommendations to drive gross margin, profitability and optimize working capital. A true business partner whose passion stretches well beyond the core finance function and extends to the wider area of business acumen. Hands on but can still see the big picture.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting, Management Reporting, Budget, Tax and Audit:

  • Interact with CFO and corporate accounting, FP&A and tax functions to comply with their requirements and to accomplish Company's objectives.
  • Oversee preparation and review of monthly reporting package and commentary with corporate finance group. Responsible for the accuracy of the financials and provide meaningful analytics.
  • Drive the region's management reporting and analysis to ensure profitability is appropriately understood and maximized, and to ensure manufacturing operations can properly understand performance and adjust as necessary to ensure efficient operations.
  • Pro-actively manages accounts receivable balance, identifies root causes for collection delays and implements remediation plans to improve DSO.
  • For new agreements or activity happening in the region, understands the nature of the arrangement and monitors compliance with key terms of the agreements (due dates, contractual financial commitments). Leverage the expertise from corporate accounting to make sure the correct entries are being recorded.
  • Actively manage the semi, annual and ad hoc audits for the region, responsible for follow-up and execution of all audit findings and recommendations.
  • Involved in the process of annual budget preparation and forecasting for the regions. Work closely with other key departmental leads in developing and updating rolling forecasts.
  • Monitors regional performance vs. Budget and Forecast, identifies root causes, and communicates with various functions to make sure the regions are on target to accomplish the budget.
  • Manages the payroll function for all America entities including but not limited to payroll preparation, processing, and reporting, maintaining payroll files, and meeting all statutory requirements.
  • Execute effective cost controls.
  • Partner with corporate tax to complete the annual tax return in a timely manner.

Business Partnering:

  • Prepare monthly performance analysis, develop matrix to evaluate profitability by area and by region. Help the commercial leaders to understand the numbers and identify opportunities to grow the business. e.g., breakeven analysis for new territory, area profitability analysis for existing markets.
  • Collaborate with operations and look for ways to improve gross margin. This includes but is not limited to understanding scrap, waste and identifying root causes, purchase price variances, logistic cost analysis and solutions to increase gross margin. Establish internal inventory controls to ensure it has been accounted for accurately.
  • Actively participate in regional QBRs and be a value adding resource.
  • Be the primary finance contact person for new projects in the regions. Embrace any ad hoc projects with positivity and eagerness and provide the required support.

Compliance, Internal Control, Policies and Procedures

  • Responsible for the overall compliance in various jurisdictions. It is also essential to understand and be compliant with the specific requirements of the medical device industry.
  • Define, document and implement proper internal controls in the region through training and self-audit.
  • Partner with the legal team to review and manage contracts within the region.

Teamwork and Team Management:

  • The right candidate needs to understand and value teamwork, who works well within a team. This person needs to be able to provide guidance to motivate and develop the finance team. A successful leader who delegates the work but not the responsibilities, who cares about the team development and creates opportunities for them.
  • Be able to collaborate with other regional finance teams, corporate finance and other functions to deliver the desired results.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with an MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • "Big 4" experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a finance leader capacity in a global organization is required. Ideally, this candidate has experience in pharmaceutical or medical device company with minimum of 15 years increasing responsibilities in similar roles. 5+ years of leading a team that is efficient and result oriented.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standard cost, purchase price variance and inventory management are highly desirable.
  • SAP experience is key to this position. Relevant experience using the ERP system for internal control is required.
  • Be able to work with ambiguity, be able to think outside of the box, a leader who understands the importance of teamwork and who does not work in silos.
  • Strong ability to breakdown and understand financial results, and effectively handle multiple deliverables in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision, result oriented, efficient, highly organized, and proactive. Does not settle for mediocrity, takes pride in work performed and presented. Demonstrated skills in driving continuous improvement.

The target base salary range for this position will range from $186,000 to $217,000 annually.Individual compensation for this job requisition will be based on non-discriminatory factors, including your geographic location, skills, experience, education and other factors as they relate to the position requirements. Actual compensation may vary depending on the confirmed job-related skills and experience.

In addition to the expected base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in Sirtex's incentive programs (target bonus of 20% for this position)and benefit plans, which include paid sick and vacation time, health insurance and a generous 401k matching program.
