The Role

The Senior Business Systems Engineer, People & Culture (Sr. HRIS Engineer) will play an active and critical role in supporting Suffolk Construction's integrated P&C technology platforms. The Sr. HRIS Engineer will focus on development, support and troubleshooting, system configuration, data integrity, testing system changes, writing, and developing reports, queries, analyzing data, and supporting enhancements, implementations, upgrades and patches. This role will be partner with senior leaders of P&C and serve as a liaison with various stakeholders to provide innovative and integrated human resource system solutions, operational support, and reporting capabilities. Key systems to support include but are not limited to Oracle HR, iCIMS/Avature, Saba, Fuse Learning, SplashBI & ServiceNow.

Responsibilities
    Senior contributor to architect, develop, support, enhance, and maintain applications, custom solutions within Suffolk's enterprise HRIS environment.
  • Ability to code to different technical specifications which may include developing documentation, researching, and prototyping competing technologies.
  • Ability to define technical specifications and standards for other contributors. This includes coordinating tasks and managing technical deliverables particularly around HR applications, integrations, and development work.
  • Responsible for providing technical support for Oracle HCM, iCIMS/Avature, Saba, Fuse Learning and SplashBI.
  • Support existing HR applications including but not limited to Oracle EBS HCM, iCIMS/Avature, Saba, Fuse Learning, SplashBI and functional groups which require monitoring, delegation, and the resolution of support tickets.
  • Partner effectively with People & Culture Teams on developing business requirements. This includes the ability to speak about technical aspects of HR systems when working with team members through the detailed design phase to ensure proper interpretation of business requirements.
  • Work between the Infrastructure, Applications, and various departmental teams to ensure functional requirements are met with technical solutions that are scalable and secure.
  • Participate in code, design reviews, help implement and adhere to technical standards across IT and mentor junior resources to deliver enterprise solutions.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with users, peers, and all levels of management to address technical and functional issues.
  • Participate in IT discussions with internal stakeholders to discuss and clarify requests for improved/additional functionality made by or proposed to the business.
  • Work with the team to improve and streamline operations, reduce risk, and improve reliability of systems and services.
  • Participate in design workshops with business users and gather key requirements.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and initiatives at the same time by prioritizing it based upon business criticality.
  • Assist with creation of functional test plans, user acceptance test cases/scenarios, end user training documents and production rollout.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technology-related experience with Oracle HCM, Payroll, iCIMS development and support in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong background in developing and supporting Oracle HCM, Oracle Payroll, Benefits, iCIMS and related technology.
  • Strong background in coding using PLSQL and design, develop, support fast formulas, integrations with on premise, cloud applications.
  • Experience with talent management and learning management systems is required.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM cloud would be preferred.
  • Background in writing and communicating complex technical and functional requirements. This could include data integration and 'ERD' type diagrams.
  • Project management proficiency, strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated and organized with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong combination of technical, functional, and consultative skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solution agent with strong planning, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and individually.
  • Results driven, highly organized, able to prioritize and multi-tasking.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stands; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
