Job Description
The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, overseeing, and leading projects from ideation through completion, following Otsuka best practices, and adhering to all regulatory guidelines. They will implement and support project strategies and plans, including communications, sponsor management, organizational transition, change readiness, capability transfer, and end-user training, and ensure quality measures are followed and documented deliverables are completed per organizational standards.

As a role that focuses on completing a project as efficiently and promptly as possible, the following are the responsibilities of a Project Manager:
Project Planning and Execution.

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Lead project planning sessions
  • Manages, mitigates, and resolves project-related issues, risks, decisions, and action items.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make project constraints based on financial analysis. *
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and other staff members.

Communications/Meetings

  • Keep the team organized and on track by leveraging project management tools and methodologies, such as action item trackers, MS Teams sites, project status decks/reports, Gantt charts/timelines, team calendars, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conducted project reviews and created detailed reports for executive staff.

Process Improvements

  • Optimize and recommend process improvements and the overall approach where necessary.
  • Assist teams in designing risk mitigation plans.

Qualifications/Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (preference in Computer Science or Engineering discipline)
  • Experience running global projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the capability to process high amounts of data to drive business strategies and decisions.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, stakeholder management, and oral/written communication skills - ability to thrive as part of a global team.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously.
  • Big-picture thinking and vision.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed project-driven organization.
  • Strong MS Project and scheduling skills
  • Ability to run projects with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.

Preferred:

  • 5-10+ years of project management experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • PMP Certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment
