Job Description

The BI Lead Architect is responsible for the organization's BI strategy and initiatives. The BI Lead Architect will manage all aspects of the BI application maintenance and future development lifecycle activities, from project initiation to application development and release management.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive BI strategy aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Identify opportunities to utilize data to improve operational efficiency, end-user satisfaction, revenue generation, and other critical business metrics.
  • Promote a data-driven culture within the organization by advocating for the value of data-driven decision-making.
  • Align business reporting across multiple departments ensuring consistency, accuracy, and unified understanding of the organization's performance and goals. There should be common definitions data definitions between Finance, sales, marketing, operations, and quality. A central single source of truth to ensure data consistency.
  • Collaborate with various business units and departments to understand their specific data needs and requirements. Work closely with executive leadership, marketing, sales, finance, operations, and other teams to provide data-driven insights that drive decision-making.
  • Drive the development of analytics and reporting capabilities. Collaborate with data analysts to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data, and then translate these insights into meaningful visualizations and reports for the management.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement BI tools, technologies, and platforms that best suit the organization's needs. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to ensure the BI infrastructure remains cutting-edge and effective.
  • Identify and address potential risks related to data quality, analytical methods, and business decisions, working to mitigate any negative impacts.
  • Establish data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality, accuracy, security, and compliance. Oversee data integration, transformation, and maintenance processes to guarantee the availability of reliable and timely information for analysis.
  • Keep apprised of new and emerging Analytics/Reporting and Data Warehouse advancements for existing and future toolsets to improve application offerings.
  • Responsible to achieve approved budgetary levels for the fiscal year for BI Area, with regards to OPEX and CAPEX budgets as set out by IT leadership.

Deliver work results under minimal supervision and must demonstrate the ability to communicate with the business stakeholders and other technical teams effectively.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry
  • 4+ years of development experience in SAP (HANA, BW suite, or Business Objects).
  • Experience managing the development of SAP BW systems and also creating SAP BW data models.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting assistance on software application-related issues.
  • Experience with BI systems and the integration to external systems.
  • Data integration and extraction with SAP ECC modules (OTC, SD, APO, EWM, TM).
  • Experience with data extraction from S/4HANA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the SAP Business Objects suite (Bobj, Webi) including SAP Analytics Cloud preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SQL is essential. Ability to write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views for efficient data retrieval and manipulation. Understanding of indexing, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and hands-on experience working with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) for database administration, development, and debugging.
  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to migrate and transform data between different databases and systems. Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for designing and managing ETL workflow.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging; ability to identify and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, and errors.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with SSRS and Excel Power Query as reporting tools.
  • Experience working with Sales Force is a plus.
  • Familiar with both traditional waterfall and agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to lead new project workshops for discovery and design with both business and technical teams to formulate the scope of requirements and solution design.
  • Experience leading others and growing junior members to build a highly productive application team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization including executive management with a passion for continuous improvement within the business.

Demonstrated strong influence management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively across departments.

The target base salary range for this position will range from $153,000 to $168,000 annually.Individual compensation for this job requisition will be based on non-discriminatory factors, including your geographic location, skills, experience, education and other factors as they relate to the position requirements. Actual compensation may vary depending on the confirmed job-related skills and experience.

In addition to the expected base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in Sirtex's incentive programs (target bonus of 10% for this position)and benefit plans, which include paid sick and vacation time, health insurance and a generous 401k matching program.
