Full time social work position (40 hrs) needed to provide a range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and young adults in the Optimal Wellness of Life (OWL) The OWL Program is a multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of children with insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and other weight-related health complications. We believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach and work with each family to address the medical, nutritional, social, physical, and emotional factors impacting a child's health and quality of life. The OWL program provides a supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

This OWL Clinical Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, and group psychoeducational interventions. Interventions will be both in person and via telehealth.
  • As part of the OWL Behavioral Medicine team, deliver individual and group care to children and families, assisting them with healthy lifestyle changes
  • Working with our resource specialist to help patients and families gain access to services and resources within and outside of BCH system.
  • Collaborating and consulting with the multidisciplinary team around management of psychosocial issues including coping and adjustment any medical diagnoses, difficulties with treatment regimen, family distress related to medical condition, parenting and caregiver concerns, trauma, child protection concerns and domestic violence.
  • Developing new programmatic initiatives to support patients and families in the OWL program
  • Supporting research and Quality Improvement efforts in the OWL program

To qualify, you must have:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, must have Social Work licensure in the state of Massachusetts. LICSW required.
  • Experience in medical environment and with child protection issues helpful.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel to satellite locations in Boston area
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills necessary.

This position is primarily based in our Boston Clinic but may include some work in our satellite locations in the future

This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus
