The Female Athlete Program at Boston Children's Hospital takes a comprehensive approach to diagnosing, treating, and managing sports injuries in female athletes. We start by assessing the whole athlete, including exercise habits, hormonal balance, and nutritional needs - not just symptoms and injuries - to ensure peak performance.

This Female Athlete Program Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigns diagnoses and develops and implements interventions and treatment plans.
  • Participating in planning and implementation of discharge and outpatient service plans and collaborates with health care team and community agencies to plan
  • Implementing and following up on treatment and provision of needed services.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work and LICSW is required.
  • Previous eating disorder experience highly preferred
  • Ability to obtain Certification for Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), BCH will cover cost
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment essential.
  • Bilingual/bicultural/diverse candidates are encouraged to apply

Position is currently based in Waltham (free parking!). Program will be moving to a location within the greater Boston area in late 2024. The program will also expand after their move. There is a potential for a remote/on site hybrid schedule.
