Job Summary

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing contracts, pricing, and the overall account strategy to defend and profitably grow Novanta business. You will indirectly manage teams to support existing business and win new business. The successful KAM will work closely with our customer's procurement, engineering, quality, and commercial personnel. Your top focus is to lead/support cross functional teams who work with our customer's engineering personnel to develop new products, address customer pain points, and simplify/improve the existing product offerings. Success also requires building confidence and relationships with current and prospective customers in procurement, quality, production management and engineering positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and execute the market/account driven Key Account strategies to profitably grow Novanta market share for all Celera Motion products for the assigned accounts and segment.

  • Identify segment trends on commercial and technical topics to position Celera for growth.

  • Measure account performance and analyze/interpret data to create business plans to drive plan revenue for the assigned account(s)

  • Mentor the Field Sales team supporting smaller accounts within the assigned segment.

  • Collaborate with Celera Product Management & Marketing team to develop campaigns for lead generation.

  • Drive accountability for plans/actions in support of the assigned accounts.

  • Coordinate and implement new product placement, promotions, and tactics to grow sales.

  • Work cross-functionally to provide feedback/recommendations and actively collaborate with other functions to ensure coordination of strategic account selling plans.

  • Actively engage in industry association and events

Requirements:

  • A technical bachelor's degree is required.

  • 5+ plus years of global sales experience

  • Experience interfacing with C-Level decision makers.

  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with customers and partners

  • Established contacts and relationships with customers and partners in the assigned segment.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and spoken.

  • Business and financial savvy. Results driven; financial acumen.

  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and pricing agreements.

  • Engineering background is required, and Motion Control experience is recommended.

  • Must have direct OEM Experience/Success

  • Ability to analyze sales data to determine appropriate actions to improve account positioning.

  • Results driven with ability to manage multiple priorities with highly effective follow-up skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • May require up to 50% travel, including visits to different Celera Motion facilities.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The base pay for this position ranges from $107,500 to $158,700 depending on the geographic market.

  • Dependent on the position offered, annual bonusses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.
