We're seeking a future team member for the role of Principal Client Strategist to join our Global Family Office team (GFO) within sales and business development. This role is located in Boston, MA or New York, NY.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Source and close new business opportunities with family offices across our investments, banking, fiduciary, master custody, technology, and other advisory offerings.
  • Responsible for leading the sales process end to end, including identification of new business opportunities, product positioning, and closing and onboarding of new clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with external referral sources and key influencers to family offices.
  • Collaborate with team members across solutions to determine the best coverage model and strategy for day-to-day client management.
  • Engage in marketing strategies and regional campaigns, host curated events in the community, and participate in local professional networks to source new business opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed the performance expectations established for the role - individual will focus on new business growth and client expansion across established family offices.
  • Have a well-established reputation as a top advisor in the market, being active in the community and prospecting in the target market. Must have the ability to engage Family Office, and other Lines of Business across the firm in their practice.
  • Demonstrate pipeline growth and exhibit best practices / behaviors, including tracking and reporting on business development results and corresponding activity.
  • Contribute to existing relationships and assist BNYM partners with client retention and new sales opportunities.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and regulations are properly followed and executed.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Deep expertise working with ultra-high net worth individuals and family offices specifically with substantial investable assets and demonstrate stellar team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of local market networks and influencers to source business
  • Undergraduate degree required. Additional certifications and advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of sales experience, relationship management experience, and/or demonstrated the ability to be a strong producer of sales records in the Wealth Management industry.
  • Successful candidates must have experience working with ultra-high net worth individuals and clients with substantial investable assets and demonstrate stellar team-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial situations to propose the appropriate services to the client/prospect and the client/prospect's advisors.
  • Holds or willing to attain Series 7 & 63

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $130,500 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
