The Credentialed Trainer supports training activities and programs in support of the Epic system for the end users at the Pediatric Physicians' Organization at Children's (PPOC). Assists with designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating training content and communication for PPOC and Practice staff. Provides both formal group-training classes (virtual or in-person) and individualized (one on one) coaching for clinicians and administrative staff. Assists practice staff by answering questions or resolving problems pertaining to Epic. Evaluates existing workflows for practices in order to provide them with guidance on how to optimize their workflow by using Epic more effectively and efficiently. Provides at the elbow support for new practice go lives.

Will be responsible for:

  • Serving as a subject-matter expert with deep knowledge of the core Epic application, related non-Epic products/applications and the supported operational processes.
  • Applying a consultative approach, engages internal subject-matter experts in operations to understand current and anticipated operational needs. Identifies implications, brainstorms solutions and assesses the best option among many. Presents recommendations to senior team member or management as appropriate.
  • Participates in analyzing tickets, feedback and requests to identify need for modification in curriculum and delivery of training. Typically conducts initial scoping of requests that are more complex.
  • Participates in upgrades by reviewing and understanding release notes that impact multiple areas within the supported applications and that require coordination across teams. Assist with communicating upgrade changes and/or other project related content to users.
  • Participates in presentations or updates to leadership. Engages in ongoing communications with multiple teams related to supported application and operational processes given broader scope and significant integration work. Employs strong communication skills to explain complex issues and influence others in reaching and implementing effective solutions. Represents the team in internal/external meetings.
  • Develops or provides substantive input to training curriculum for online learning or in-person instruction. Regularly obtains feedback from super-users and their managers. May provide specialty training to user groups.
    • Responsible for supporting all elements of training planning, design, development and implementation for designated application(s). Assists with maintenance of training curriculum, training environment, and delivers ongoing education post go-live.
    • Determines the appropriate level of training (time, delivery method) for each user role in designated application(s), in coordination with the vendor recommendations. May assist with training other Epic Credentialed Trainers, conducting training for designated application(s). Participate in the development of training policies and requirements for designated application(s).

In order to qualify, you must have:

  • High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience directly involved in Epic Application support and/or implementation, performing builds in the targeted applications(s).
  • Experience with training associated with implementation of new technology required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum/instructional materials, and deliver education to adult learners in a healthcare setting.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a trainer and instructional designer for adult learners required, preferably with IT technology in a healthcare setting. May substitute 5 years-experience in a healthcare delivery management role, or as a healthcare IT analyst focused on electronic medical records implementation and support.
  • Training end-users directly or in providing substantive input training curriculum/materials.
