The EEG Tech is responsible for the following:
  • Prepares patients and equipment for procedures.
  • Obtains medical history from patient/families to identify and meet patient-specific needs. (e.g. physical/mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure).
  • Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician, and complies with all standard lab protocols.
  • Documents history in the technologist report.
  • Performs procedures according to Laboratory standards and protocols.
  • Implements alternative methods or adjusts recordings to obtain optimal recording of clinical EEG, AEEG data.
  • Prepares and adjusts recording equipment as needed.
  • Takes appropriate actions during patient emergency situations and ensures patient safety, including electrical equipment safety in the Labs at all times.
  • Accurately and thoroughly Completes documents, forms, and reports.
  • Troubleshoots recording equipment and coordinates repairs as needed.
  • Attend technical staff meetings and morning huddles, providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols.
  • Participates in conferences and technical meetings on a local, regional, and national basis.

The EEG Tech must have the following:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of EEG experience required.
