Job Summary

The Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting will be responsible for the quarterly and annual filing with SEC, lease accounting under ASC842, and compliance with SOX control . This role will report to Senior Manager - SEC Reporting and Accounting and is hybrid (3 days per week in our Bedford, MA headquarters). This role will work closely with management across the finance organization, cross-functional teams, as well as internal and external auditors.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, footnote disclosures, disclosure checklists, and the MD&A for the Company's quarterly and annual filings with the SEC including Forms 8-Ks, 10-Qs and 10-Ks.
  • Assist with the research, analysis and documentation of technical accounting matters and SEC reporting to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of internal control to ensure the accuracy and quality of financial statements produced and in support of SOX compliance efforts.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting tasks relating to leases under ASC 842.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly closing and reporting tasks including preparing entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and other schedules.
  • Completion of government surveys and compliance forms.
  • Provide support to external and internal auditors during audits and interim reviews.
  • Manage ad hoc projects, as needed.

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CPA certification preferred, or CPA eligible; National accounting firm experience strongly desired
  • 3-4 years public/private accounting experience, preferably with publicly traded global company, and a minimum of 2+ years with a public accounting firm, particularly with work on public clients
  • Strong technical accounting background, including thorough knowledge of SEC compliance
  • Extensive familiarity with internal accounting controls and objectives
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and FCCS reporting tool a strong plus
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as with all levels of management throughout the company
  • Detail oriented, hands-on and organized with strong focus on data accuracy
  • Demonstrated analytical curiosity and strong problem-solving skills; able to elicit and comprehend quantitative and qualitative information
  • Self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced unstructured atmosphere with minimal supervision

  • Up to 10%

Physical Requirements

  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.
  • Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials
