The Director/Senior Director, Federal Markets, is a highly visible and strategically important role for AVEO Oncology covering the Federal Healthcare Delivery System (FHDS). The Director/Senior Director is primarily responsible for developing a working relationship with key decision makers to ensure patient access and to drive utilization within the Federal Healthcare System, with specific focus on the Veteran's Health Administration & Defense Health Agency.
The Director/Senior Director will influence and educate formulary decision-makers such as VISN Pharmacy Executives, VA PBM personnel, DHA Formulary Division officials, along with additional VA / DOD stakeholders. They will build executive-level relationships within the Federal Healthcare Delivery System and leverage those relationships in working with field sales teams to ensure the appropriate level of cross-functional support for their accounts. They will closely collaborate with field sales in developing strategic engagement plans to provide a clear transition in enabling the local sales representative to add the Federal account as a call target. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with Marketing, HEOR, and Medical on cross-functional activities & initiatives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Develop and implement strategic initiatives designed to optimize the performance of key Federal accounts.
Ensure efficient access to Aveo's current and future products by minimizing barriers to patients and physicians
In conjunction with their Federal Markets counterpart, target key stakeholders within Veteran's Administration Hospital systems, including VA PBM and VISN Pharmacy Executives
Engage key stakeholders in DoD Military Treatment facilities and build strong network relationships with these stakeholders
Develop materials to facilitate VA/DoD engagement in conjunction with Marketing & Market Access leadership
Determine cadence of key meetings within the VA and DoD accounts, including VISN P&T and local VAMC P&T committee meetings and disseminate relevant updates to key internal stakeholders
Engage Tier 2 and Tier 3 stakeholders within Veteran's Administration Hospital systems and in DoD Military Treatment facilities, strengthening strong network relationships with key stakeholders
Maintain current credentialing where required (e.g. Symplr, Secure3 (Intellicentrics), etc.)
Develop and maintain understanding of core account dynamics, create strategic account plans, and support and drive business objectives
Contribute to specified key performance objectives by demonstrating comprehensive understanding of the FOTIVDA brand strategy and disease state knowledge, enabling the brand to be properly positioned with critical Federal customers
Communicate DoD Uniform Formulary position for all current and future AVEO products
Monitor policy updates and legislative events of significance within the Federal Markets and determine the corresponding impact to Aveo
Proactively identify and pursue educational opportunities that will increase awareness in the channel
Identify university affiliations and training programs
Identify educational opportunities within VA and DoD, such as Pharmacy and Clinic In-services, Grand Rounds
Co-lead Aveo participation in national meetings
Review and analyze product performance at the account level and communicate account performance broadly with key internal stakeholders
Proactively identify and communicate challenges and risks to meeting priorities
Identify opportunities for conference sponsorship and attendance
10+ years of working in the pharma/biotech space, with at least 5 years experience working in Federal channels
Direct VHA/DHA experience
Established relationships with Federal Markets stakeholders
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross-functional stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends, identify insights and develop and inform strategy
Strong oral and written presentation skills and executive presence
Ability to influence and lead across functions; operate in a matrix environment
This position requires 25% domestic travel
