The Krishnamurty Lab in the Cancer Immunology department at Genentech is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and inquisitive immunologist to perform discovery research and contribute to the development of novel drug targets in the area of cancer immunology and inflammation.
The Opportunity:
This is a hands-on laboratory position that involves close collaboration with colleagues and teams across multiple research functions including computational sciences, protein engineering, functional genomics, research pathology, and translational medicine. In particular, you will focus on research areas such as (but not limited to) the tumor microenvironment, stromal cell-immune cell interactions, and tumor B cell and T cell biology.
You will design, implement, and execute experimental approaches across both in vitro and in vivo systems to interrogate and identify novel biological mechanisms and functions that modulate the tumor microenvironment and anti-tumor immunity
You will help develop novel in vivo animal model systems to better reflect the complexity of the tumor microenvironment
You will utilize state of the art multi-omic, imaging, and computational related technologies to gain a deeper resolution and understanding of the cellular and molecular complexity of murine and human tumors
You are expected to independently and thoroughly research a new area of immunology, design, execute, and analyze experiments, and present the results to various forums within and beyond the department of Cancer Immunology.
Who You Are:
You will possess a Ph.D., ideally with 2+ years of experience in cellular immunology.
You have a documented record of professional achievement in the form of impactful publications
Theoretically well versed in fundamental immunological principles.
You are skilled in experimental techniques such as tissue digestion, primary cell isolation, multi-color flow cytometry and cell sorting, in vitro cell culture systems, imaging, genome editing, and molecular biology
You have experience and skilled in mouse handling, in vivo techniques, and tissue isolation
You have a strong background in tumor microenvironment/tissue biology, particularly stroma and B cells.
Candidates with an ability to work with multiomic data sets and computational skills with statistical software packages is a plus.
