The Division of Endocrinology at Boston Children's Hospital is one of the largest and most accomplished pediatric endocrinology team of experts in the world. Our program brings together experienced pediatric endocrinologists, endocrinology nurses, diabetes nurse educators, registered dietitians, and mental health professionals who are at the top of their field. The types of endocrine conditions we treat include diabetes, disorders of growth, decreased bone mineral density, and acute and chronic disorders of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, and gonads (testicles and ovaries). These glands, and the hormones (chemical messengers) they control, play an integral role in your child's growth and development. Learn more about the Division here.

The Senior Program Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative support to the Chief of Endocrinology, including calendar management, travel arrangement, and professional correspondence. Processing reimbursements for the division as needed.
  • Managing day-to-day program activities and daily operations. Developing new programs, processes, or systems for manager review to address new or revised program goals and objectives as assigned. Reviewing recommendations with manager and developing new procedures for final review.
  • Contributing to the financial management including making budget recommendations, monitoring monthly expenses, and reconciling Program accounts. Preparing proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  • Providing technical advice and problem-solving assistance related to program goals and objectives; escalating requests to other resources as needed.
  • Coordinating evaluation of program effectiveness. Generating periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies. Reviewing and analyzing reports, assessing trends or changes. Developing recommendations for discussion.
  • Participating in discussions as pertaining to program; updating manager appropriately. Developing agreed to recommendations.
  • Composing written communication and promotional literature for program and department. May assist with planning workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinating logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.
  • Interacting and liaising with staff, faculty, and outside/community agencies to facilitate meeting program objectives.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of related experience or 3 years related experience and Bachelor' degree.
  • Previous calendar management, travel coordination, and reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to solve complex problems in the areas of clinical and research operations, business planning, financial management, marketing, personnel, and information systems management.
  • Work requires ability to command respect, conflict resolution skills, organizational skills, and ability to think independently.
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Proven ability to lead support staff and influence internal leaders and external contacts.
