The Senior HTM Technician:
  • Independently services complex medical device systems and high-risk equipment.
  • Works collaboratively with the Information Services Department and other support service departments to manage integrated medical systems.
  • Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools. Prepares and maintains related documentation.
  • Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures.
  • Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.
  • Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment.
  • Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.
  • Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s).
  • Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues.
  • Acts as a technical resource for both colleagues and clinical customer base.


To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience required.
  • Ability to take initiative to troubleshoot complex assignments.
  • Comprehensive ability and knowledge of electromechanical devices.
  • Ability to proactively understand and address customer needs and/or issues of varying complexities and to find effective solutions with few guidelines.
  • Collaboratively work with other hospital support service departments (e.g., Information Services Department).
  • Ability to perform at a high level of reliability in all duties.
