WHAT TO EXPECT

As Gates Corporation looks into the future, Product Line Management (PLM) has been identified as a crucial role that will drive the next phase of our company's growth. Located in our Englewood office, you will be reporting to the Director of Global Product Line Management for Couplings and Hydraulic Metals. This role is involved in the development and implementation of product line strategic plans, including market and competitive analysis and identifying strategic initiatives that drive profitable growth. The PLM will lay out product roadmaps and work with engineering to lay out technology roadmaps that support these product roadmaps.

  • You will support the formulation of all short-term and long-term objectives and business plans for your product line globally, including sales growth, new product vitality metrics, and profitability improvements.
  • You will identify, justify and select new product development projects and marketing programs to obtain desired growth in incoming orders and sales and achieve profitability targets. Once development is complete, you will drive the commercialization and adoption of the new product lines.
  • This is an opportunity to collaborate with technical resources to manage the portfolio of organic investments in the product line across the entire product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization and end-of-life!
  • You'll be working with sales and customers to capture VOC and incorporate it into product planning and execution.
  • You'll be coordinating with global operations to ensure the manufacturability and delivery of product per growth projections.

Key responsibilities:

  • Improving the P&L health for the global product line, including driving growth initiatives and managing key material savings and productivity projects.
  • Supporting the development of the hydraulic coupling strategy and Industrial Fluid Power Product Line Strategy - outlining the key strategic initiatives and targeted outcomes over the planning period.
  • Conducting voice of the customer interviews and feeds customer desires into internal organization through customer visits, industry association participation, and competitive research.
  • Contributing to the product roadmaps that will deliver market-driven solutions and innovation and the overall project prioritization.
  • Acting as a project manager for the NPD process for the product line to achieve desired results. Ensuring that features, quality, cost, and timing objectives are met.
  • Developing the commercialization plan for new products - including working with our Global Creative Studio to prepare Marketing and training materials that clearly articulate our value proposition, product positioning, and target markets/applications.
  • Maintaining knowledge of competitor portfolios, capabilities, and activities in order to have a strong understanding of our competitive landscape - including the development of competitive benchmarking plans and evaluation.
  • Participating in inorganic (M&A) funnel development, profiles, and identifying potential synergies.
  • Authoring or supporting significant CapEx investment projects to achieve long-term growth targets.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business or Marketing from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product line management, marketing, outside field sales, application and/or product engineering, or business development, along with evidence of continued career progression.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international travel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence with and without authority.
  • High Level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence across multiple levels within the company and locations, including establishing global partnerships.
  • Strategic mindset and strong business acumen.
  • Global work experience and perspective.
  • Familiarity with steel machining and production processes are beneficial.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and drive change.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $118,000 - $135,000
  • Bonus Eligible
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
