Position Overview:

As a Senior Teller, you will ensure efficiency on the teller line by overseeing teller operations. In this position you will model exceptional service standards and help to mentor less experienced tellers to learn to do the same. You will be responsible to overseeing onsite operational compliance, internal controls and security policies and procedures. In addition, you will ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and corporate policies including BSA reporting, CRA, and Regulation CC.

Primary Accountabilities:

  • Oversee the teller line to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency including but not limited to: scheduling lunches and breaks, assisting tellers in servicing customers, verifying transactions, performing supervisory overrides, signing checks, explaining procedures, etc.
  • Perform all regular teller duties accurately and in an exceptional manner. Create a welcoming and inviting customer experience thru your greeting of customers, smiling, using their name and building rapport with the intent of generating customer loyalty.
  • Take a leadership role in participating in the branch sales environment. Be proactive in identifying customer referral opportunities.
  • Oversee opening of all teller stations. Provide location assignments, computer support and cash as needed.
  • Function as the vault teller. Monitor cash levels and recommend cash orders.
  • Intervene with customer concerns on the teller line. Actively listen to teller-customer interactions. Escalate to management as needed.
  • Balance the branch ensuring that all tellers are in proof and closing procedures are followed.
  • Own the customer error resolution which includes resolving routine customer concerns and referring more complex issues as appropriate to a supervisor.
  • Demonstrate basic product knowledge to handle customer inquiries.
  • Participate in community and networking events
  • May be asked to serve as an on-the-job training mentor for new tellers.
  • Responsible for assisting in performing security procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Education and Work Experience:

  • High-school diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred
  • Must have good verbal, math and customer service skills, possess clerical accuracy and be detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to handle challenging customer situations with poise and tact
  • Cash handling and customer service experience required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule necessary
  • Willingness to direct and mentor others
  • Experience in proving ATM, head cash and branch activities required
