Acara solutions is looking for A R&D engineering Technician to work with our client in Burlingame, CA who have revolutionized the medical device manufacturing industry.
Here is what you will get:
Pay Rate: $34 - $41/hr DOE
Shift: M-F 2pm - 10:30pm
Summary:
The role of the Engineering Technician is to support the robotics team with evaluations of proposed designs, prototype builds and testing activities for complex medical equipment. This role requires strong skills and experience with mechanical assembly, prototyping & testing. The candidate must be familiar with mechanical best practices and have the ability to quickly solve challenging problems

Here is what you will do:
  • Building and testing unique composite and endoscopic structures. This encompasses everything from mechanical assemblies to soft polymers.
  • Implementing and executing testing to refine our products.
  • Investigate assembly issues and assist engineering on documenting and implementing process improvements.
  • Coordinate and execute prototype and manufacturing builds.
  • Follow assembly and test protocols to help characterize new processes.
  • Perform equipment qualification.
  • Utilize small hand tools and/or precision devices and microscopes to aid in prototyping and testing.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years working as an Engineering Technician for complex mechanical systems.
  • Good mixture of design/build/test/figure-it-out skills.
  • Familiar with medical device manufacturing processes such as applying adhesive, UV curing, thermal bonding, cutting techniques, soldering, and optics assembly.
  • Experience with process development, equipment/tooling development, and inspection.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate in English orally and via writing.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Experience with complex medical equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping with 3D printing technology
  • Basic capability with SolidWorks or other CAD software
  • Experience with Line Clearance, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Documentation Practice (GDP), and ISO 9001
